I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here has been rocked by yet another contraband controversy.

The ITV reality series featured tense scenes as EastEnders star Shona McGarty was caught using some illicit butter – seemingly brought in from the last jungle smuggler, the recently-evicted Alex Scott – with tough consequences.

The camp leader joined her fellow campmates – made up of stars like Aitch, Martin Kemp and Vogue Williams – with a laminate, as she warily told them: ‘Please don’t hate me’.

The star then explained how she had found some butter in the food trunk and although she wasn’t ‘responsible for it’ she ‘used it’.

As she told the Bush Telegraph: ‘I don’t know where it came from, but I saw it and my eyes lit up and I used it.’

We know all too well the severe consequences that come with a transgression like this one, and Shona was given two options for punishment.

Either lose two stars from the trials, which would hit their food supply for the evening or take the hit and step down as leader.

‘I hope she’s learnt her lesson,’ Kelly noted.

Deciding to minimise the damage, Shona relinquished her throne and burnt her leaf.

This is not the first time the camp has been caught with contraband. Lioness Alex was previously caught with salt, and the camp lost one trial star as a result.

This led to an ‘amnesty’ where people could hand in anything else without fear of repercussions.

Here, Shona revealed that she had brought in a large bottle of scented room spray, which left everyone baffled as to how she could have even managed to sneak it in.

Reacting to the whole debacle, fans were unimpressed by the actor sneaking around with a second item and putting the camp at risk.

‘Nahh get Shona out. Twice now she’s brought something into camp that shouldn’t be there I’m A Celebrity. She’s going to lose their meals for her own selfishness,’ Jasmin wrote on X.

‘They had already been punished for using sneaked in stuff, so Shona still does it anyway when she knows they will see everything??’ ScottTFHC23 shared.

‘Shona the first time was cheeky and a bit funny, but again? really?’ Toni Lou echoed.

‘Shona just hasn’t learned her lesson! Now, you watch, all Lisa‘s hard work, they’re going to take a meal away again. All for some butter.. Sorry, but that’s bloody selfish,’ Gillian Hudson agreed.

‘Maybe it’s just me but I’d be soooo pissed off at Shona having contraband AGAIN, it’s just risking negative repercussions for everyone in camp,’ Zaka said.

‘Sorry if I was in there and she’d been caught with contraband for the second time I would have lost my… It’s so selfish,’ Jade added.

Fans were not only baffled by how obvious Shona made her butter usage, but were also concerned at just how old it was.

‘WHERE HAS THAT BUTTER COME FROM? IT HAS BEEN 2 WEEKS,’ Rayinatorsport wrote.

‘The fact she’s having butter that’s been out of the fridge for over 3 week,’ Tom posted.

‘I’d have thought butter must be rank after 2 weeks unrefrigerated,’ Sorel Arrow reflected.

Host Dec later revealed it wasn’t hotfooted in but rather taken from the team after one of her trials.

After Shona stepped down Ruby Wax promptly replaced her (and locked her in the phone booth).

The power quickly went to her head as she declared: ‘No more Mr Nice Guy’, and Jack Osbourne even joked: ‘Ruby as leader, pure insanity. The craziest dictatorship I think the world will ever know.’

We’re now entering the final week of I’m A Celebrity 2025, with the evictions coming in hot and fast over the next seven days before we crown a King or Queen of the Jungle.
