The Los Angeles Rams are in great shape in the NFC West, and also look poised to secure the number one seed in the NFC thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles' struggles lately.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOne of the main reasons why the Rams are in such great shape is that the play of Matthew Stafford has never been better. He's playing at an MVP level, so much so that he's approaching multiple pieces of NFL history.
But, as Adam Schefter of ESPN points out, there's one statistic that Stafford is close to breaking the NFL record. To do so, he needs to surpass future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, and he can accomplish this feat with one pass during the Week 13 matchup vs. the Carolina Panthers.
How Matthew Stafford can surpass Tom Brady in touchdown NFL history
"Stafford has a chance Sunday to break the NFL's all-time record for most consecutive touchdown passes without an interception," Schefter writes, "he currently is tied with Tom Brady, who threw 27 straight TD passes without an interception in 2010-'11."

After that blunder, Stafford has thrown 27 straight touchdown passes without an interception. Heading into Week 13 against the Panthers, Stafford has 2,830 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and just two interceptions.

If Stafford throws one touchdown pass against the Panthers and doesn't throw an interception until at least that next touchdown pass is completed, he will have broken the current NFL record.

Puka Nacua and Devante Adams have formed an incredible duo rivaling Cooper Kupp's time in Los Angeles, as Stafford has lit up the NFL this season.
One more touchdown pass without an interception will give Stafford the NFL record for most consecutive touchdown passes without an interception, breaking Brady's record from the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
