Tributes have been paid to two mums killed in a car crash which also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries.
Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were killed in the collision, after which police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The crash involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto in Common Lane, Pleasley, on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, at around 6.20am on Thursday, Derbyshire Police said.
Ms Pearson, who was driving the Suzuki, and Ms Carlisle, her passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The badly injured boy is believed to be Amie’s son.

Chelsea’s partner Georgia posted an emotional tribute of the pair in a tender embrace on Facebook. She said: ‘I love you my beautiful lady! I’ll never stop missing or loving you! You were my person and I’m gutted it’s ended this way.
‘It’s not goodbye, it’s simply see you later.’
A family statement on a GoFundMe for Chelsea reads: ‘It is with the deepest regret and heartbreaking loss that we as a family announce the tragic death of our beautiful and beloved, Chelsea Carlisle.
‘Chelsea sadly lost her life in the road traffic collision that occurred on the 27/11 on Common Lane in Pleasley.
‘This will also help support her loving wife, Georgia and their precious son, Reuben with finding a home, necessities and dealing with everything that comes from such a devastating loss.
‘We as a family appreciate all of the support the community are giving and we will be eternally grateful.’
Ms Pearson’s family released a statement on GoFundMe, reading: ‘A day we never thought we would lose a beautiful mother, daughter, sister and auntie.
‘She has gone so soon and so young leaving behind two young children, one with life-altering injuries.’
‘Please only if you can spare it, help us give her a beautiful send off she deserves and anything remaining will go to her sons.
‘We are struggling as a family and this is one struggle we didn’t think we would have to organise.
‘We thank you for reading and hope all involved gets justice.’
Detectives said their families are aware, adding: ‘Our thoughts remain with them.’
A nine-year-old boy who was also in the Suzuki suffered serious life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains, the force said.

Three men who were in the Vauxhall were also injured, two of them seriously.
An 18-year-old male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Officers said that due to the injuries he sustained in the collision, he was taken to hospital where he remains.
A spokesperson added: ‘We remain keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, as well as anyone who has any information.’
