Mayor of Kingstown season 4 is racing towards a massive citywide war as the Cartel and the Aryan Brotherhood continue to create unrest. After a tense ending in episode 5, with Kyle being sent to Gen Pop, and Bunny's new shipment being blown up, things are unsettled in Kingstown.

Mike is desperately trying to regain control of the situation, but with new powers in play, and former allies acting up, things are more uncertain than ever. And unfortunately, things don't get any easier in episode 6.

Early in the episode, Bunny is being transported by one of his crew, but they get their tires spiked en route. While Bunny tries to get his driver to keep going on the rims, Lamar decides to step out of the car and check the damage.

It's at this point that the pair start taking heavy fire from an attacker in the nearby trees. Bunny is helpless, and with only Lamar to aid him, Bunny ends up taking some serious damage from flying bullets before the attacker runs away.

Bunny is taken to the hospital, where his sister cares for him, while Mike and Frank make their own individual plans to get payback for Bunny.

However, Mike learns that Lamar is actually working for Frank Moses, and he intentionally put Bunny in harm's way so that Frank could sweep in and take over the entire operation in Kingstown.

Kyle McLusky Sees A Whole Different Side Of Anchor Bay

Up to this point, Kyle's stay in prison has been mostly plain sailing. Despite Callahan having a cell immediately next to the former police officer, Kyle has had a quiet stay.

However, in Gen Pop, Kyle is struggling to keep from being noticed. His work as a cop has led to some of the criminals in Anchor Bay recognizing him, which could spell disaster. However, it seems as though Callahan has instructed the Aryan Brotherhood to watch his back, as they serve him extra rations at lunch.

Unfortunately, Kyle does end up being attacked when a pair of corrupt guards transport him to a secluded spot where the Cartel convicts attempt to brutalize and abuse him, but at the last minute, the AB step in to save the day.

Kyle is thoroughly shaken up by the experience, and while Mike is able to get him sent back to Ad Seg, he will likely never be the same after this close encounter.

The Mayor & The Sicario Have A Discussion In The Diner

Mike McLusky is also working on tracking down the people calling the shots for the Cartel, to stop their disruptions inside and outside the prisons in Kingstown. As such, he stops by the diner where the young Sicario has been having breakfast every day.

Mike tries to intimidate the young man, but he appears to take it all in his stride. And when Mike asks why they are targeting Bunny, the assassin clarifies that to them, Bunny is a pawn. They have more interest in taking down the big players, like the Mayor himself.

Mike Makes A Deal With The Warden To Save Kyle

The warden, Nina Hobbs, takes a meeting with Mike, and they strike a deal to get Kyle safely back to Ad Seg, with the additional benefit of sending Callahan into Gen Pop. In return, Hobbs wants Mike to bring in Frank Moses, and since Moses double-crossed Bunny, Mike is more than willing to throw him under the bus.

Mike plays Moses and suggests that he will be in and out of the police station; meanwhile he coordinates with Ian to get him arrested. However, when a member of the Cartel attempts to kill Moses in the KPD station, Ian swiftly takes the attacker out.

Whatever is coming, it appears that the relationship between Moses and Mike is on thin ice, and there are a lot of people that are targeting Moses in Kingstown.

After all of this, Mike heads to the hospital, where he sits with Bunny and relieves his sister of her care duties. Mike gets a call from Ian directly after the would-be killer shoots up the KPD, but Mike silences the call.

In this moment, he has decided to shut out the rest of the world, and just be with one of his oldest and dearest friends. Bunny and Mike have been working together for a long time, and both of them call Kingstown home in a way that the invading gangs will never understand.

This moment also offers a stark contrast to how Mike survived in prison. As a part of the Aryan Brotherhood, Mike pledged his loyalty to Callahan and his people, which very likely meant they targeted people like Bunny on a regular basis. That was never who Mike was; it was just what he became in order to survive.

However, Mayor of Kingstown season 4, episode 6 does appear to be heading towards a particularly dangerous conclusion with unrest in Kingstown hitting an all-time high.
