An exciting heavyweight matchup between fan favorites Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Derrick Lewis is set for the main card of UFC 324 in January.

After stopping Ryan Spann in March and winning a decision over Serghei Spivac, he dropped a fight on the cards to Sergei Pavlovich. The Dominician heavyweight then notched back-to-back, first-round bonus-earning stoppages against Ante Delija and Shamil Gaziev within three weeks' time.

In a July headliner at UFC on ESPN 70, "The Black Beast" made quick work of then-undefeated Tallison Teixeira. Lewis earned a title shot back in 2018 and has since gone 8-6 with six highlight finishes.
