As a projected first round pick in next year's NFL draft, it is highly unlikely that Keldric Faulk will return to Auburn's roster for the 2026 season. However, that does not stop him from sharing his thoughts on Auburn's ongoing coaching search.
Following Auburn's heartbreaking 27-20 loss to the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl on Saturday, Faulk was asked what he hopes to see in Auburn's next head coach. He hopes to see the leadership of someone who wants to, and can, take the program to another level.

"Having that dog mindset. That's really how I can put it, having that dog mindset because everybody on this team is hungry. Everybody on this team is some dogs. We want a coach with some dog in him."
He then mumbled, "I feel like, ya know, we do got one."
It is assumed that Faulk is talking about interim head coach DJ Durkin, a coach that several players on the roster have already voiced approval for. The Tigers showed more grit in the three games that the has served as the head coach, which has led to an uptick in offensive production.
Auburn Athletic Director John Cohen has publicly shared that Durkin is deemded a worthy candidate in the head coaching search, while Durkin has also expressed interest in staying with the program once the coaching search has concluded.

Late Saturday night, Justin Hokanson of Rivals/On3 reported that Auburn has scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, where a coach will be named.
