Bayern Munich pulled out a nervy 301 win over St. Pauli, which left many points for discussion. Here are this author’s takeaway…why don’t you leave us yours in the comments?
Bayern Munich just looks…off. Something is not right. Whether the team is slumping, out of sync, or just tired, things do not look like they did just a few weeks ago.
There could be a chance that Union Berlin took Bayern Munich’s aura of invincibility with that draw. Things have not been the same since.
Joshua Kimmich looks beat up (though he did assist on the game-winner). He just has not been sharp since that ankle injury with Germany.
Manuel Neuer should have sat that game out and Jonas Urbig should have played. It was a logical game for Urbig to start. Neuer was coming off of three questionable performances and could have used the day off.
At some point, Tom Bischof needs time in the central midfield.
Kim Min-jae is not going anywhere this season, but he looks like a guy who needs a fresh start.
Luis Díaz fits into this attack far better than Leroy Sané or Kingsley Coman ever did.
Even with the things to complain about, this team often just finds ways to win. There is something to be said for that.
