The SEC's regular season has concluded after a spirited Rivalry Week. Georgia Bulldogs won a defensive brawl against Georgia Tech, which highlighted concerns about Georgia's passing game. Georgia will play in a fifth consecutive SEC championship. The Bulldogs punched their ticket to the SEC championship (and the College Football Playoff) after Texas A&M lost on the road to Texas, who is hopeful to become the first three-loss team to make the playoff.

Georgia will face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC championship. Alabama defeated Auburn in a highly contested Iron Bowl to make the SEC championship and likely earn a playoff bid. Auburn is one of six SEC teams to miss out on postseason play.

Georgia and Alabama finished the regular season with 7-1 SEC records along with Texas A&M and Ole Miss, but Georgia and Alabama held the tiebreaker over Texas A&M and Ole Miss. The four-way tie went down to the SEC's fourth tiebreaker (cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents among tied teams), which Georgia and Alabama won.

Across the rest of the league, Ole Miss got a big rivalry win over Mississippi State, who will miss a bowl game. Ole Miss figures to be a lock to make the playoff along with Oklahoma, who earned a narrow win over LSU. Vanderbilt also has a strong argument to make the playoff after earning a big rivalry win over Tennessee, but will likely be on the outside looking in.

Kentucky joins Mississippi State in missing a bowl game after Kentucky lost in embarrassing fashion to Louisville. South Carolina lost a disappointing rivalry game against Clemson to cap a tough season.

Florida dominated Florida State to end a frustrating season. Missouri earned a two-touchdown win over Arkansas, who finishes the season winless in SEC play.
