Part of the M4 motorway is expected to be closed all day after an accident in the early hours of this morning.

A black Mercedes car left the eastbound carriageway near Leigh Delamere Services at around 2am, meaning the road had to be shut between Junction 18 (Bath) and Junction 17 (Chippenham).

National Highways did not give an exact time when traffic would return to normal, but said they expected disruption to continue into the afternoon.
