Spartan DBs Aveon Grose and Aydan West talk MSU win over Maryland

Michigan State football took down Maryland in Detroit on Saturday night, ending an eight game losing streak and taking home a 38-28 win. A big part of that win was the big plays of the Spartans defense when they mattered most, especially the defensive backs.

Two defensive backs that played a ton of snaps, and were forced to make plays through all 60 minutes, were Aydan West and Aveon Grose.

The night was highlighted by Grose's game sealing interception, finishing off the Terrapins and securing the win for the Spartans. That capped a three tackle performance.

For West, he is a Maryland native, who chose Michigan State over his home state school. This game had some personal flair for the true freshman defensive back, who had 8 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks in the game.

"I was recruited by Maryland, but there was nothing that made me say 'oh, I want to go to Maryland.'"
