Wolverine's Daughter is the Strongest Mutant Marvel Refuses to Talk About

Among all of Wolverine's children, only one united two bloodlines to create a Mutant so powerful, Marvel literally pretends she doesn't even exist.

Considering just how many decades Wolverine has spent fighting across the Marvel Universe, it's surprising just how small his extended family tree has actually gotten. But even if some of Logan's most underrated family members deserve more credit or attention than Marvel has given them, there is one child who takes Logan's mutations to such an extreme, the company basically pretends she doesn't even exist.

Considering Marvel's efforts to remove her from fans' memory, it's understandable that many of Wolverine's biggest boosters may have never heard of his most recent, magically-gifted daughter. Introduced in 2019's Marvel Comics Presents series by creators Charles Soule and Paulo Siqueira, the romance that produced "Reine du Rien" is anything but normal (even for a Mutant like Wolverine).

During World War II, a wandering Logan stumbled upon a strange ritual: a sorceress forced to conjure a demon into the world, or see her own daughter killed. Obviously joining the battle, Logan helped drive the demon (dubbed "The Truth") back to Hell, and saving the life of the sorceress' daughter, Sylvie. But a curse was born that day, requiring Logan and Sylvie to reunite, fight, and banish The Truth back to Hell on an endless cycle.

With soldier and sorceress forever linked, Logan did what he does best. And after taking Sylvie to bed, a child was created to help its parents in their doomed crusade. And not by accident, but an intentional plan hatched by Sylvie's family, the D'Arqueness clan (one of the most important and ancient magic families in the Marvel Universe). The family never formally named Rien, seeing her only as a weapon to guarantee The Truth would never be unleashed upon the world.

With Her Mother & Father's Gifts, Rien is Among Marvel's Most Powerful Mutants

Wolverine knew Rien was his blood even before meeting her, and even before she exhibited the same lethal mutations. While it isn't clear if Rien's glowing claws are as sharp as Logan's, Rien is everything her family hoped she would be, and more. Possessing all of Logan's heightened abilities, healing factor, and the skills of sorcery practiced by her family, she redefines "living weapon" even more than her father. We'll let Rien explain her gifts and duties herself:

"That is all I am. The satisfaction of a debt owed by my clan to the world. They believed that a combination of the magic in our line with your strength, reilience and immortality could create the perfect opposite to The Truth. A being that could fight it again and again, no matter how many times it returns. Forever... I cannot divert. I cannot change. Every time The Truth returns, it is stronger, smarter. I need to be too."

Proving herself a match for Logan's peak abilities (if not exceeding them), the addition of magical skills makes her easily Wolverine's deadliest child. Perhaps too deadly, since she has been relegated to a standalone reality, unable to offer her skills to the X-Men as the strongest recruit in generations.

That could all change, and Marvel would be wise to make it work. If not for the demigod-level superheroine Rien could become, then at least to give her the same found family as her father Wolverine discovered for himself.

Superhuman senses, stamina, and strength. Healing factor and longevity. Franchise X-Men, Marvel Age 197 (in the MCU)

The human mutant Wolverine (a.k.a. Logan) was born James Howlett, blessed with a superhuman healing factor, senses, and physiology. Subjecting himself to experimentation to augment his skeleton and claws with adamantium, Logan is as deadly as he is reckless, impulsive, and short-tempered. Making him the X-Men's wildest and deadliest member, and one of Marvel Comics' biggest stars. He's played in Fox and Marvel's movie franchises by Hugh Jackman.
