The Golden State Warriors took the court Saturday night to take on the New Orleans Pelicans.

Golden State did it without franchise legend Stephen Curry.

It showed in the early going, too. The first half featured a remarkably low-scoring mark of 42-38 at the intermission.

Not having Curry out there certainly makes a difference.

Why isn't Steph Curry playing tonight?

Stephen Curry isn't playing Saturday night for the Warriors against the Pelicans because he is injured.

Curry has a quad contusion.

He got hurt taking a charge in Golden State's recent game against the Houston Rockets.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was relieved it was the quad and not Curry's ankle or knee.

ESPN reported that it'll be about a week missed by Curry, as long as he responds fine too his recovery plan.

In the meantime, the Warriors are navigating things without Steph. They entered Saturday's game with a 10-10 record on the season.
