Hawaii was eliminated from contention for a spot in the Mountain West Conference championship game last week with a 38-10 loss at UNLV. Micah Alejado connected with Jackson Harris for a 70-yard touchdown pass that put the Rainbow Warriors up 7-3 midway through the first quarter before the Rebels took control of the game. Alejado finished 15-of-24 for 163 yards and threw an interception as the Hawaii offense was held to 231 yards. Harris finished with three receptions for 79 yards while the defense surrendered 470 yards.
Wyoming lost its third game in a row, falling to visiting Nevada 13-7 last week. The Cowboys’ lone score came late in the third quarter when Kaden Anderson hit Evan Svoboda with a five-yard touchdown pass. Anderson was 22-of-39 for 157 yards while Sam Scott ran for 48 yards on 11 carries. The late losing streak likely means Wyoming won’t go to a bowl game for the second straight season.
The Cowboys have won the last two games in the rivalry, including a 42-9 victory at home on Nov. 18, 2023, and Wyoming leads the all-time series 17-11.
