The Ole Miss head coach has the Rebels in the midst of their best season with a chance at a national title looming after an 11-1 finish to the regular season. As the College Football Playoff looms for Ole Miss, Kiffin is reportedly deciding between coaching in the playoff or leaving the Rebels for LSU.
If he leaves for LSU, Ole Miss is expected to forbid Kiffin from coaching in the playoff - and potentially the SEC title game if Auburn takes down Alabama on Saturday night.

Before the Kiffin drama unfolds, though, LSU took the field for its final game of the regular season. The Tigers suffered a 17-13 defeat at the hands of the Oklahoma Sooners who are likely College Football Playoff bound with the win - despite trailing for a majority of the game against a struggling Tigers program.
As LSU waits to find out if Kiffin will be its coach next season, interim head coach Frank Wilson made it very clear he'd like to be part of the program moving forward. "As long as LSU will have me, I would love to have the opportunity to be part of what we are doing here," he said after the game on Saturday night.

The New Orleans native is in his second stint with the Tigers and has coached for the program since 2022 when he took over assistant head coach and running backs coaching duties. He previously coached at LSU from 2010-15 as the assistant head coach, running backs coach and recruiting coordinator.
