If there’s anyone who can see Tommy DeVito’s potential, it’s Giants interim HC Mike Kafka.

Kafka, of course, was the OC during DeVito’s two seasons in the Big Apple.

He saw the NJ-native come in as an UDFA, then work his way up the depth chart before taking over the starting job after Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor went down to injury.

DeVito would start six games during the 2023 campaign, going 3-3 in the process.

The 27-year-old began the next season back as the third-stringer, but he again ended up jumping into the top QB spot after Jones and new backup Drew Lock were sidelined.

Big Blue announced that they’d be bringing DeVito back at the end of last season, however, after revamping the QB room they placed him on waivers in late-August.

He was quickly scooped up by the Patriots, who he has spent this entire year with, serving as the third-string behind MVP-candidate Drake Maye and backup Joshua Dobbs.

While DeVito hasn’t dressed so far this season, Kafka still believes that he has the potential to be a regular in the NFL.

“DeVito, in my opinion, is a starter in this league,” he said. “He does a nice job, he has started in this league, so of course I see him that way -- he’s a guy I'm proud of for where he began, just stepping up and being in the room and learning to be a pro.

“He really took from that room, every day just continued to improve and was probably one of our most improved players from day one to day 30 to day 60 to day 90. Over time he ended up being one of our most improved players through that.”

DeVito went 3-5 over his eight starts, but completed 65 percent of his passes for 1,358 yards and eight touchdowns.

He will be a restricted free agent at the end of this season.
