Nikola Jokic is on the Denver Nuggets’ injury report for their Saturday night matchup against the Phoenix Suns.
The superstar center is dealing with a left wrist sprain, according to the official NBA injury report. As a result, the Nuggets listed him as questionable to play on Saturday.
Will Jokic Suit Up for the Nuggets vs. Phoenix?
The Nuggets won't have to worry about the absence of their superstar center on Saturday. After getting through the day without any setbacks, Jokic has been cleared to play against the Suns.
...Jokic isn’t typically in danger of missing matchups for the Nuggets. The star center has appeared in all 18 games for the Nuggets this season. Although he dealt with a minor setback recently, Jokic still found clearance to play his typical minutes.
On Friday night, the Nuggets returned from a three-day break. Jokic suited up for 36 minutes in the matchup against the San Antonio Spurs.
The multi-time MVP took just 10 shots from the field, making seven of his attempts, with one coming from deep. After he knocked down six out of his eight free throws, Jokic collected 21 points for the Nuggets on Friday. He racked up a double-double with 10 assists and was just one rebound shy of having a triple-double.
Although Jokic had a productive outing, the Nuggets came up short in a high-scoring, tight loss against the Spurs. Denver dropped the matchup 139-136. They are 13-5 on the year, heading into their Saturday night clash with the 12-8 Phoenix Suns.
When the two teams met back in October, the Nuggets picked up a 133-111 win over Phoenix. Jokic checked in for 32 minutes, making five of his eight shots. He produced 14 points, 15 assists, and 14 rebounds in the victory.
It might be early, but Jokic is once again a strong contender in the NBA’s MVP race. Through his first 18 games, he’s shooting 62 percent from the field and 44 percent from beyond the arc. The star center is producing 29.1 points per game, while coming down with 12.6 rebounds, and dishing out 11.0 assists.
The Nuggets and the Suns will tip at 9 PM ET on Saturday night.
