Two of the biggest British action stars of the 21st century are going head-to-head on the U.S. streaming charts, and it's a battle you won't want to miss. At the time of writing, Daniel Craig's last outing as the world's most famous spy, 2021's No Time to Die, has risen above one of Prime Video's most reliable streaming hits: Jason Statham's A Working Man. Directed by David Ayer from a screenplay he co-wrote with Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man has been a regular on the Prime Video top ten in the U.S., but, at the time of writing, has dropped into tenth place as No Time to Die rises to ninth.
With both films featuring veteran action heroes as they tackle the odds to search for justice, it's clear to see what sort of genre is proving popular with Prime subscribers right now. However, with Christmas on the horizon, it won't be surprising to learn that the top two spots on the streamer's top ten are held by festive flicks, with How the Grinch Stole Christmas at #2 and Tyler Perry's Finding Joy at #1. This split is normal around the holiday period, as those looking to indulge in the festivities repel others into the hands of non-festive action ass-kickers.
Elsewhere on Prime Video's top ten, the Mark Wahlberg-led Play Dirty has fallen to eighth after its recent release, with the 2025 horror flop The Woman in the Yard at #7, and director Nia DaCosta's Hedda at #6. Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jack Black occupy fifth place with their billion-dollar blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, with Dwayne Johnson's holiday action flick Red One at #4, and Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of Wicked at #3 ahead of the cinematic release of the sequel.
'No Time to Die' Earned Huge Box Office Returns
Although the two movies are battling it out on the streaming charts, A Working Man's box office underperformance simply can't compete with the impressive haul earned by No Time to Die back in 2021. Although falling short of the global total of both Spectre and Skyfall, the final Craig outing still returned an impressive $758 million worldwide, split between $161 million in domestic revenue and a further $598 million from overseas markets. The film finished 2021 as the year's fourth highest-grossing movie, and proved there is still plenty of life left in this iconic spy franchise.
No Time to Die and A Working Man are both streaming on Prime Video.
