By Evan MasseyShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Ohio State Buckeyes were finally able to break their curse against the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday afternoon. When all was said and done in the latest installment of "The Game," Ohio State ended up winning by a final score of 27-9.
With the win, the Buckeyes moved to 12-0 on the season. Ryan Day and company will now begin preparing to take on the Indiana Hoosiers and head coach Curt Cignetti in the Big Ten championship game next weekend. As for Michigan, the Wolverines dropped to 9-3 with the loss.
Jeremiah Smith, the star wide receiver for Ohio State, didn't have a huge game against Michigan. He caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Leading up to the big rivalry matchup, Smith's health was a major topic of conversation. He has been dealing with injury and there was concern about whether or not he would play. Smith not only played, but made an impact in the Buckeyes' victory.
...During the game, Smith also had a moment that has fans buzzing following Ohio State's win. Smith shared that moment on social media.
Apparently, Smith flipped off the Wolverines' fan base.

Fans did not hesitate to jump into the comments of Smith's post. Ohio State fans were fully in support of the team's superstar wideout, while Michigan fans did not waste time ripping into Smith.
"That’s how many times you’ve beat Michigan in the last 6 years," one fan wrote.
Another chimed in, "Thank you, goat."
"The best football player that will ever touch God’s green Earth," a third comment read.
A fourth fan commented, "And Ryan Day said they win with humility!! lol."
"To the whole state of Michigan!" a fifth commenter said.

Despite a slow start to the game, it was clear that the Buckeyes were the better team. The Wolverines put up a fight, but the Ohio State defense was too much for Bryce Underwood and company to succeed against.
The loss will almost certainly knock Michigan out of contention for the College Football Playoff. As for the Buckeyes, they're going to be fighting for the No. 1 seed in the playoff with Indiana, who is current the No. 2 ranked team in the country.
