By Cole SullivanShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes got off to a slow start on Saturday in Ann Arbor against the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines, falling into a 6-0 hole, but they never looked back, outscoring Michigan 27-3 the rest of the way.
Ohio State shut the Wolverines out in the second half and dominated on the ground, rushing for total of 186 yards, while quarterback Julian Sayin added 233 passing yards and three touchdowns to three different receivers.
Moments after the game, the Buckeyes players ran to one end zone to celebrate with their Ohio State fans in attendance. Meanwhile, Michigan players gathered around the midfield “M” to prevent the Buckeyes from planting their flag on the home field—a move Michigan had done last season after a win—leading to a brief brawl between the sidelines.

Despite the chaos, the Buckeyes attempted to go through with the flag celebration, but their coaches quickly intervened. Ryan Day made them head back to the locker room and sent a clear postgame message that the team would celebrate their victory “in humility.”
"I'm just happy for our players. They've worked really hard. I'm happy for our coaches; they worked really hard, too," Day said. "We had good energy this week, came in with confidence, won the line of scrimmage, and I'm just happy for our guys. We're going to win with humility. I'm just grateful for a lot of people right now—it means a lot, even if I can't name them all."
...The Buckeyes will now secure the No. 1 seed to close out the regular season and will turn their attention to a huge showdown in the Big Ten Championship next week against the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers, who are also undefeated. The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, giving the Hoosiers a near-home-field advantage, though it’s still an easy trip for Ohio State fans.
