The Brooklyn Nets have been mostly healthy for the first quarter of the 2025-26 NBA season and yet, they haven't been able to string together wins or notch their first win at home. Brooklyn continues their season with a matchup at the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, but they will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back with a longer injury report than usual.

The Nets announced on Saturday that forward Michael Porter Jr. and rookie guard Egor Demin will miss Saturday's game at the Bucks with their respective injuries. Porter will be missing his second consecutive game with what the team is describing as low back tightness while Demin is having his left plantar fascia tear injury being managed by Brooklyn's medical staff on this back-to-back.

While Porter will be missing only his second game of the season due to injury, Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said prior to Friday's 115-103 NBA Cup loss to the Philadelphia 76ers that the team was not concerned about his low back tightness. Fernandez maintained that the team will not rush Porter back into the fold which could be in part due to the fact that Porter has dealt with back issues since his days in high school.

Demin is coming off his best game of the season as he finished Friday's loss to the 76ers with 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one steal, and two blocks in 30 minutes played. However, Demin initially injured his left plantar fascia during this past offseason and he was coming off the bench to begin the season as Fernandez and the coaching staff was trying to manage his injury through a minutes restriction.

The Nets already had to play against a formidable Philadelphia team without the services of Porter and guard Cam Thomas for the first time this season and now, they'll be without Demin as well. Not to mention that forward Terance Mann is questionable for Saturday's contest in Milwaukee due to right rib soreness along with rookie guard Nolan Traore not being available because he is still on his G League assignment.
