Following a forgettable midweek performance against Arsenal FC in the Premier League, Bayern Munich returned to the Bundesliga. Their woes seem to not end, for the same pattern of physical and mental fatigue played into their game.
Facing FC St. Pauli at home, in what was otherwise an easy fixture for the Rekordmeister, turned into a nightmare as Bayern conceded mere minutes into the game. Heading towards halftime, Bayern finally found their equalizer as Raphael Guerreiro scored in the 44th, and the game winning goals came in added time, with Luis Diaz and Nicolas Jackson scoring in the 93rd and 97th.

In the midst of a solid performance, Neuer made a gross miscalculation that resulted in Gabriel Martinelli scoring Arsenal’s third goal. But despite such errors, he remains the indisputable #1. His age seems to be hardly a matter of concern for the club who are keen on keeping him.
With his contract having been extended earlier only for a year, the topic of a renewal came up. Neuer, when asked on the same, did not exclude it. “The crucial factor will be how I feel,” he said, per @iMiaSanMia. “We’ll see in the second half of the season. I’ll think about it more towards March during the international break,” he stated.
It would be interesting to see unfurl the implications of this contract on Jonas Urbig’s future with the club. What do you think Bayern should do regarding Neuer?
