Igor Thiago scored his 10th and 11th goals of the Premier League season as Brentford scored three of the second half's four goals in a 3-1 win over Burnley at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.

It wasn't all good news for Brentford, who also got a goal from Dango Ouattara, as Thiago did leave the game late with an apparent leg injury. It may have been a precautionary move, but we'll wait for word from Keith Andrews.

All of the scoring happened from the 81st minute onward, as Thiago's penalty was answered by a Zian Flemming penalty before Brentford scored the final two goals of the match.

Brentford rise to eighth on the table with 19 points, while Burnley remain 19th with 10. The Clarets are one point back of safety prior to West Ham's kickoff.

Dango Ouattara goal — Brentford 3-1 Burnley

But it's Brentford who find the next goal, Mikkel Damsgaard sliding Ouattara into the left side of the box.

Ouattara touches away from goal, then cuts it behind the keeper and inside the far post.

At least nine minutes of stoppage...

Alright, then, Burnley.

Igor Thiago injury

The 11-goal scorer has suffered a leg injury but seems to want to play on.

Keith Andrews replaces him with Keane Lewis-Potter, and Thiago goes down the tunnel anyway.

Igor Thiago goal — Brentford 2-1 Burnley

Kayode lays off for Henderson, who spins a cross toward the back post.

Rico Henry gets through Kyle Walker and the ball is on a plate for Thiago to hammer into the roof of the goal.

What a wild five-minute spell.

Zian Flemming penalty goal — Brentford 1-1 Burnley

Almost a carbon copy of the Thiago penalty, and it's 1-1.

Burnley penalty

Kayode's first touch is leapt upon by Jaidon Anthony, and an unwitting Kayode cleans him out.

Igor Thiago penalty goal — Brentford 1-0 Burnley

Martin Dubravka's penalty-stopping acumen is decent, but Igor Thiago gets the keeper going the wrong way and rolls his penalty the other way.

Brentford penalty

Axel Tuanzebe chops down Dango Ouattara in the box, and Igor Thiago is also there and goes down from the challenge.

Thiago was offside in the buildup and did Tuanzebe catch the ball first? VAR having a long look.

Five changes

Brentford remove Kevin Schade and Aaron Hickey for Reiss Nelson and Rico Henry.

Burnley take Florentino, Loum Tchaouna, and Lyle Foster out of the game for Jacob Bruun Larsen, Josh Laurent, and Jaidon Anthony.

About a quarter-hour to go in West London.

Subs

Lesley Ugochukwu replaces Hannibal Mejbri in the 60th minute.

Brentford buzzing

Kayode's clipped cross from the right is turned just wide of the near post as the Bees are all over the visitors.

Igor Thiago had a goal ruled offside and rightly so, and the Bees have started the second half just as they finished the second.

Can Burnley withstand this latest push?

Halftime — Brentford 0-0 Burnley

Not a lot of reason for celebration for either team, as Brentford look superior but have lacked sharpness in the final third and Burnley will feel there are three points out there somewhere. They may even feel like they've wasted a prime opportunity to have an away lead at the break.

Zian Flemming volley causes scare

Burnley with a first-time, left-footed swoop from outside the 18 and Caoimhin Kelleher has to paw the ball away from goal.

Clarets get a corner but it's handled by the Bees.

Game opening up after slow start

Hannibal Mejbri leads a promising run for Burnley but dives and sees a yellow for simulation. Shame, because the chance wasn't dead for Burnley.

At the other end, Igor Thiago comes close to putting the Bees in front but his shot is blocked out for a... goal kick. Oops.

0-0, 20'.

Brentford lineup

Brentford vs Burnley preview

Losses to three-straight London sides — Arsenal, West Ham, and Chelsea — have sent Burnley tumbling back into the bottom three, and there are two more capital sides left in a five-match run of fixtures. Scott Parker's men need to improve performances as much as results, currently 19th in expected goals and 20th in expected goals against.

Brentford's xG story tells of better standing than their current 13th place footing, as the Bees are top-third in danger production and a strong fifth in the limiting said danger. Unfortunately for Keith Andrews' Bees, they've scored almost four full goals fewer than xG and conceded 4.5 more than the advanced metrics.

if Brentford can begin to cash in from set pieces or find more control in the run of play — a Christian Norgaard replacement has only half-emerged in that Jordan Henderson's leadership is visible but his lack of range is, too — perhaps they can be the darlings of the 2025-26 Premier League season. And saved penalties aside, Igor Thiago is a unit.

Brentford vs Burnley prediction

We've watched Burnley fluster all sorts of foes, and Martin Dubravka is an excellent keeper with some strong defenders in front of him. Yet Igor Thiago is in good form and an absolute handful for said defenses. Especially with the game at home, the Bees are going to be too much for the Clarets. Brentford 2-0 Burnley.
