Foden with a superb finish to put City ahead late on!
Rayan Cherki plays in Phil Foden in the box and he wriggles free of a couple of players and sends a low finish just past Perri and in. City go wild. It looks like Foden has won it for them. But there's still plenty of stoppage time to go.

Jeremy Doku whips in a great cross for Omar Marmoush, who has just come on as a sub, and he should score. But the contact is weak and Perri saves easily. Stoppage time is coming up...
Leeds are pushing for a winner
You would expect Man City to be pushing hard for the winner but it's the opposite. Leeds are pushing high and creating chances. City are holding on.
Somehow City don’t go 3-2 up!
Lucas Perri gets down low but the ball squirms up into the air and looks like it's going in, but Struijk somehow hacks the ball off the line.
Penalty kick to Leeds! Nmecha finishes at the second attempt
A long ball forward skips on and Gvardiol slides in and takes out Calvert-Lewin. That is a clear penalty kick. Lukas Nmecha has his penalty kick saved by Donnarumma, but he taps home the rebound as he scores for the third game in a row.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin came on at half time and he's already scored. City are slack in possession and then Calvert-Lewin turns and Nunes knocks the ball back into his path and DCL finishes. Game on? Very much so. Leeds look like a totally different team.
City close to a third
Reijnders has a pop and it's deflected wide, and just before that Justin came up with a big block. Leeds under serious pressure before the break.
Gvardiol finishes after sustained City pressure
First up, Phil Foden's corner came straight back to him and he spanked a shot towards the top corner which Perri pushed wide for another corner. From that corner, O'Reilly nodded down and Gvardiol was there to finish and make it 2-0. After a VAR check for a potential offside, the goal stands. City cruising.

City are pinging the ball around nicely and looking to get the ball up to Erling Haaland early and often.
Foden finishes inside a minute!
Wonderful work down the right from Matheus Nunes and he plays a give and go and crosses for Phil Foden to finish off the crossbar. Perfect start for City, who go ahead after just 59 seconds.
Manchester City lineup
Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Reijnders, Gonzalez, Bernardo; Foden, Haaland, Doku

Manchester City team news, focus
Mateo Kovacic and Rodri remain out for City but the rest of the squad is available. That could now be a bit of a problem for Guardiola as he's trying to keep everyone happy. But the players who were given the chance to impress against Leverkusen in midweek didn't get the job done, so Guardiola will probably go straight back to the team which has started most games in recent weeks. Erling Haaland up top with Jeremy Doku, Rayan Cherki, and Phil Foden behind him should be the attack.

Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff are out and Sebastiaan Bornauw questionable but Leeds are fully-fit aside from that. Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin come back in to start up top? Or will Lukas Nmecha start again? The German striker has scored in each of his last two games and Leeds have USMNT winger Brenden Aaronson and Noah Okafor supporting him well out wide. It will also be intriguing to see if Daniel James and Wilfried Gnonto will start as Leeds look to hit City on the break.
Manchester City vs Leeds preview
Guardiola’s side lost 2-1 at Newcastle last weekend, which was a shock given City's recent performances, and he made 10 changes for the midweek home game against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. It didn't work out as City lost 2-0 despite dominating the game. City are still in the title race but they can't afford to lose much more ground on leaders Arsenal, so they have to kick on over the festive period.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementLeeds are really struggling after a bright start to life back in the Premier League. They lost 2-1 at home against Aston Villa last weekend and that is now five defeats in their last six as Daniel Farke is under growing pressure. Leeds are in the relegation zone, which is to be expected, but there are signs they can get out of it. They are only in the relegation zone on goal difference but have City, Chelsea and Liverpool in their next three games, so Leeds will likely be in the bottom three when Christmas rolls around.
Manchester City vs Leeds prediction
This feels like it could get out of hand quickly if City score early, as they are angry from two defeats over the last week. Manchester City 4-0 Leeds.
