Grab some snacks and put on your comfiest clothes. There's no time like the holiday season to catch up with some of the best shows this generation has to offer. These days, Prime Video has been serving an array of shows that have been drawing massive public reception. From the action-packed Reacher to the latest romance sensation Maxton Hall, the streaming platform knows what their viewers want to see.
Over the years, Prime Video has delivered shows that are bingeworthy from their premiere episode until their very final moment. Whether you're an alternate history junkie, a sucker for romance drama, or love a good criminal case, these selections will have you seated all the way through. Without further ado, here are the Prime Video shows that are perfect from start to finish.
1 'Bosch' (2015–2021)

LAPD Detective Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) is caught in the middle of a corrupted institution that's supposed to protect people. Driven by strong values, Bosch is a homicide detective whose sole mission is to bring justice. But even strong men like Bosch have their own personal demons. Shaped by a childhood filled with trauma, and molded by internal politics in the force, Bosch refuses to let the pain of his past define his present and future. More importantly, the detective won't take shortcuts to get the job done.
Bosch isn't too far off from the reality of today's flawed justice system. Most of Bosch highlights cases have something to do with a certain higher power interrupting his investigation. Whether it's an "accidental" apartment fire, which escalates into a real-estate scheme involving city officials, or the department's incompetence in dealing with a manipulative serial killer, no case is truly "closed" until Bosch gets his hands on it. Never mess with a detective whose own family was killed at the hands of a powerful attorney.
2 'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan' (2018–2023)
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan is back on the field: this time with John Krasinski as the titular hero himself. Originally employed for a desk job at the CIA, Jack got the attention of the bureau when he spotted an anomaly in a series of transactions. Noticing his potential, Jack is pulled out of his analyst role and immediately assigned to high-risk missions. Although Jack claims he doesn't want anything to do with field operations, his past as a former Marine is just begging to come out once again. Under the mentorship of James Greer (Wendell Pierce), Jack is pulled into extremist networks, rogue military factions, and global criminal enterprises.
It's hard to imagine Kransinski outside his former role as the adorkable Jim in The Office. But Jack isn't supposed to be the antifragile superhero audiences expect him to be. The appeal of Kransinski's interpretation of Jack is that he's just an average guy with feelings and insecurities. He sounds like the last person the CIA would want to take on international criminals. But Jack also has a moral compass that serves him in the long run. Even when he’s framed for all the wrong reasons, he is determined to prove his innocence.
3 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' (2022–2025)

There's no better summer than the one in The Summer I Turned Pretty. Soon-to-be 16-year-old Belly (Lola Tung) and her family visit Cousins Beach for their annual vacation. Once there, they'll spend the next 12 weeks staying at their family friend's beach house, joining mother Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) and her two sons, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad (Cristopher Brinley). Although they've literally stayed in the same house every year, something feels different in the salty air this summer. Maybe this time, Belly might just have her first boyfriend.
Everyone's always dreamt of having the perfect summer. There's something magical about spending early mornings by the beach, afternoons eating ice cream, and chilly nights over the campfire. As The Summer I Turned Pretty has shown, falling in love during this time of the year feels especially different too. Without the constraints of school and homework, a summer romance is the most emotionally liberating experience of the season. Sparks will fly, sneaky glances are exchanged, and if you're lucky, a kiss might be involved.
4 ‘The Wheel of Time’ (2021–2025)

Magic only serves its purpose when it's handled for the greater good. The Wheel of Time follows Moraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike), an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah tasked with searching for the Dragon Reborn. This prophesied figure is supposedly the key to the future of the universe: the Dragon Reborn is powerful enough to either save or destroy the world. As she narrows down to five potential candidates, Moraine takes them on a dangerous quest to uncover who the true Dragon is.
The high-fantasy series shows how powerful magic can be — not because of the spells and incantations, but how it's used as a tool of influence. Nobody would've expected a soft-spoken shepherd to possess the One Power. But this power, if not guided properly, could easily break the world. Moraine's job is to ensure that the holder of such magic doesn't get consumed by its overwhelming force. With the Dark One threatening the universe, Moraine must ensure that the Dragon Reborn lives long enough for their inevitable battle.
5 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' (2017–2023)
There's always space for a woman (or even women!) The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel introduces Miriam "Midge" Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan), an Upper West Side housewife in the late 1950s whose life changes completely when her husband leaves her. Apparently, being a picture-perfect, domestic wife isn’t enough to keep a man around. In an emotional spiral, Midge takes her woes downtown, where she performs an impromptu stand-up session that impresses employee Susie Myerson (Alex Borstein). Together, they take on the male-dominated stand-up scene, one club at a time.
Stand-up comedy has notoriously been a man's arena. Women are deemed too emotional, which is the exact thing that almost put Midge's career into jeopardy. But Midge knows how to sharpen her strengths and utilize her "weaknesses" to work up a crowd. The former housewife thinks she's just having a career change. But on a bigger picture, she's defying societal expectations, breaking family standards, and proving that even the most unassuming women like her — the ones who're supposed to be fixing a sandwich in the kitchen — have an entertainment place.
6 'Upload' (2020–2025)

Artificial intelligence gets even crazier in Upload. The sci-fi comedy-drama takes place in a near future where people can "upload" their consciousness into digital afterlives. Young computer programmer Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell) unexpectedly passes away early on. Thanks to this new technology, the late Nathan is "uploaded" to the luxurious virtual heaven called Lakeview. There he befriends his customer service "angel" from the real world, Nora Antony (Andy Allo). Little do they realize, their newfound friendship is key to dismantling corruption in the tech industry.
With the current development of AI, society has witnessed some of the greatest advancements in technology. But without ethos, that same innovation could lead to dire consequences when not utilized with good intentions. Nathan's death was no accident — he is supposedly murdered for creating something that could potentially bring down wealthy tech companies. It just goes to show that all the money and knowledge in the world don't necessarily make a good man.
7 'The Man in the High Castle' (2015–2019)

In this alternative take on world events, The Man in the High Castle is set in an alternate history where the Axis powers won World War II. The former United States is divided into the Greater Nazi Reich in the east, the Japanese Pacific States in the west, and a lawless Neutral Zone in between. In the middle of this conflict is Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos), who discovers mysterious films showing different versions of history, including the one where the Allies actually won the war. Refusing to let the truth come out, Juliana is constantly sought after by some very important people, particularly by a mysterious figure known as the "Man in the High Castle."
The Man in the High Castle speaks of resistance without being overtly heroic. The idea of resistance is often associated with protests and outspoken rage. But in the context of the show, such acts are too risky to execute. Instead, these ordinary people resist in the smallest ways. Whether it's learning about the truth of alternate timelines, covering up for fellow civilians in front of authorities, or passing forbidden knowledge, sometimes the bravest acts are the quietest.
