We’re here. One more time (at least) for your Kansas State Wildcats to take the field in 2025.
It’s been a rough season. We all had lofty expectations headed into the season, with dreams of a shot at the Big 12 championship running through our minds. But the Wildcats stumbled and bumbled through 2025, and sit at 5-6 overall and 4-4 in Big 12 play headed into the regular season finale. A bowl game is still in the cards, thankfully, but it’s not going to be the kind of game that the K-State faithful were hoping for.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThough at 5-6, a bowl game is not locked in. The Wildcats still have to find a way to win today in what should be a cold and possibly wet day in Manhattan. The hits are going to feel worse, the ball is going to feel like a rock, and the fans that make it to the stadium are going to be bundled up and lacking any extra energy. These Cats are going to have to fit through it all to get the win.
Thankfully, they’ve got the second-easiest game on their schedule left to play. The Colorado Buffaloes are bad. They aren’t as bad as Oklahoma State, but they are pretty darn awful. The Buffs enter today’s game at 3-8, and just 1-7 in Big 12 play — a very surprising 24-17 win over Iowa State (back when that meant something) in Boulder the first half of October. But it’s been four straight losses since, including three blowouts. The Buffs have nothing to play for, and may be ready to shut it down and get to the offseason — which would be beneficial for a K-State team that has shown it can play down to competition just as easily as it can play up.
A showing like last weekend and the Wildcats will be having too much fun to notice the cold. But a showing like the trip to Stillwater a couple weeks ago, and it will be a long afternoon for the Cats.
It’s Senior Day in Manhattan. Time to send those guys out with one more win, and a trip to somewhere warmer before they are done with their time in the Little Apple.

If you don’t have FS1 or can’t access the stream, the game can be heard across the 28-station K-State Sports Network with Wyatt Thompson (play-by-play), former K-State quarterback Stan Weber (analyst), and Matt Walters (sidelines) calling the action. The game will also be on SiriusXM Satellite Radio Ch. 211 or 199, and available online at K-Statesports.com. Live stats are also available at k-statesports.com, and social media updates (@KStateFB) will also be a part of the coverage.
Go Cats!
