The Seattle Seahawks announced their captains for their Week 13 showdown with the NFC North’s Minnesota Vikings on Friday.
This week’s captains are tight end AJ Barner, edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu and cornerback D’Anthony Bell. It seems Barner is becoming somewhat of a staple in the coin toss circle for the Seahawks, as this marks his fourth appearance as a captain this season.

So far, Barner has racked up 324 yards and four touchdowns on 33 receptions and picked up several key first downs via “The Barnyard,” Seattle’s version of the Tush Push.
Despite being a veteran defensive leader, this will be Nwosu’s first appearance as a captain. Seattle’s splash free agency signing in 2023, he steadied the Seahawks’ pass rush through troubled times while dealing with injuries in the previous two seasons.
Finally, mostly healthy, Nwosu has returned to form, picking up 5.5 sacks and 25 tackles through 10 games this season. He did suffer an ankle injury in last week’s game against the Tennessee Titans, but this choice and the lack of an injury designaton signals he should be good enough to chase after Max Brosmer.

Bell has been primarily a quality special teamer for Seattle, but saw his first significant playing time in the secondary against the Titans, where he totaled four tackles after Ty Okada left with an oblique injury.
The Seahawks will play host to the Vikings at Lumen Field at 1:05 p.m. PST on Sunday.
