Winning college football games any given year is hard. Winning college football games year over year is even harder. For the Iowa Hawkeyes, winning many games each year is just a way of life for their football program.
The Iowa Hawkeyes went on the road to a cold, windy, and snowy Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the final regular-season game. Iowa, which weathered the elements and an early onslaught of rushing yards from Nebraska, poured things on in the second half to defeat the Cornhuskers 40-16.

College football analyst Ben Stevens reported that the Iowa Hawkeyes are among a group of Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, and Georgia as the only FBS programs that have won at least eight games in each of the last 10 full seasons.
Excluding the 2020 season, which was impacted by COVID-19, where Iowa still went 6-2, the last time Iowa won less than eight games was 2014.
Over this decade-long run of sustained success, Iowa owns a record of 91-41, a winning percentage of 69%. This run includes nine bowl berths, with a 10th coming this season once bowl games are announced.
