2025 might have been a huge year for superhero and anime projects, but one title isn't doing so well. One Punch Man Season 3 premiered on Netflix and Hulu in October and has since received its lowest reception to date on IMDb. The show is currently midway through Season 3, as the Heroes Association makes its way to the Monsters Association in City Z.

One Punch Man's Season 3 IMDb score has significantly dropped since its release. When previous installments had scores averaging 7 to 9, Season 3's numbers have consistently declined, with its highest IMDb score now 4. Season 3's sixth episode, titled "Motley Heroes," was given the lowest score to date, which was a 1.4. In comparison, Velma, a Scooby-Doo spin-off that was heavily criticized by fans and was canceled after two seasons, has an overall IMDB score of 2.7.

One Punch Man Season 3 received heavy criticism from fans, to the point that it has a low Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 6%. Critics argued that the latest installment was poorly animated, that Saitama is hardly in the show, and that the series isn't on par with the manga, feeling like they were watching a "terrible slide show."

Shows To Watch if You Like 'One Punch Man'

One Punch Man is an anime series about a superhero named Saitama, who has the power to defeat his enemies with a single punch. The manga is still ongoing and has sold over 34 million copies by August 2025. The show is known for its high-action scenes and comedy, while also answering the question, "What makes a good hero?" Saitama only acts as a hero as a hobby, not caring about status or credit.

If Season 3 of One Punch Man isn't packing a punch for you, though, several other amazing anime series carry similar themes. One current example is Solo Leveling, which follows Sung Jinwoo, who is selected by the System to become a Player, allowing him to level up his abilities and transform into a strong hunter. The first two seasons are very action-packed, and there are moments where Sung Jinwoo would one-shot his foes due to his overwhelming strength.

Another show also worth watching is My Hero Academia. Both shows feature a structured hero system tied to bureaucracy, featuring heroes with unique powers. It also balances slice-of-life moments with high-action scenes, featuring jaw-dropping animation.

One Punch Man Season 3 is available to stream on Netflix and Hulu.
