Udinese has been honored with the prestigious De Sanctis Award for Sustainability, a recognition of the club’s pioneering commitment to sustainable innovation through the Bluenergy Stadium. The award ceremony took place at Palazzo Chigi in Rome on November 26, 2025.
The award, which recognizes the Bluenergy Stadium as one of Europe’s most advanced and environmentally responsible sports infrastructures was presented by Italian football legend Dino Zoff to Magda Pozzo from Udinese’s ownership group. The ceremony was attended by key figures including Italy’s Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, and the President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), Gabriele Gravina.

The jury highlighted the transformative vision behind the Bluenergy Stadium. This includes its large-scale solar park developed with Bluenergy Group and its integrated approach to energy efficiency, accessibility, community engagement, and cultural change. Sustainability has become a core value of Udinese Calcio, shaping its youth programmes, daily operations, and long-term strategy.
Magda Pozzo emphasized the importance of the recognition: “This is a historic day for our club. Being recognised at Palazzo Chigi for our sustainability model is a proud moment for Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia and for Italy.” She added that the Bluenergy Stadium is “more than an arena—it is a European laboratory for innovation, responsibility and the future of sport”.
With this award, Udinese reaffirms its position as an international benchmark for green infrastructure, social responsibility, and forward-looking sports development.
