Tommy Edman played most of last season on a bum ankle that hampered his play in the field and, well, even some at the plate.
But the Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman and center fielder gave Dodgers fans an update on his condition on Friday.

“It’s doing all right," Edman told Sedano and Kaplan. "I recently got the surgery, so hoping that fixes it for good. It’s something I needed to do after dealing with it the past two seasons. They said everything went smooth. Hopefully it’s a good recovery and I get back to 100%."
At the plate, Edman finished up with a World Series championship, of course. He hit .225 and had an OPS of .656. Edman hit 13 home runs and totaled 49 RBIs.
It will be a sigh of relief for Dodgers manager Dave Roberts to have a healthy Edman available, especially with the team's needs in the outfield. Edman also can spend time in the infield, too, when needed.

Edman spent his first five seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals before coming over to the Dodgers in 2024. Edman won a Gold Glove in 2021 while with the Cardinals, securing his role as a solid player in the field.
The Dodgers are going to be looking to upgrade their raster as the franchise aims for a three-peat of capturing The Commissioner's Trophy, which goes to every World Series champion. Before coming to Los Angeles, Edman already had postseason experience with St. Louis.
In his time with the ballclub, the Cardinals reached the National League Championship Series in 2019 before getting swept by the eventual World Series champion Washington Nationals, who defeated the American League's Houston Astros. Then, in 2021-23, the Cardinals reached the National League Wild Card Series and lost all three series.

This season, Edman played in just one game in the NL Wild Card Series against the Cincinnati Reds. But he played through his ankle injury with steady play in the NL Division Series, NLCS and, of course, the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Look for Edman to have a solid comeback season and, hopefully, help the Dodgers win yet another Fall Classic.
