Tennessee football commit Joel Wyatt is out with an injury for the TSSAA football semifinals.

Wyatt, an Oakland senior, will not play on Nov. 28 in the TSSAA Class 6A semifinals against Blackman High (12-1) at Ray Hughes Stadium at Oakland (13-0) because of an unspecified injury. Wyatt has been hobbled in recent weeks.

Oakland defeated Blackman 32-0 on Sept. 26.

Wyatt was a TSSAA Mr. Football Class 6A semifinalist in his first season at Oakland after transferring from Webb School - Bell Buckle. Wyatt has been a wide receiver and defensive back for the TSSAA football Class 6A defending state champion Patriots. He was a key portion of a dominant Oakland secondary, which also featured Columbia Central transfer Justus Haggard, who is also out with an injury.

Wyatt, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound senior, is a four-star recruit and No. 3 recruit in Tennessee and No. 61 nationally per the 247Sports Composite. He is considered the No. 4-ranked athlete nationally.

Ole Miss football commit Craig Tutt, a two-way player at Oakland, is playing and is also a defensive back.

Wyatt has 18 catches for 337 yards and six touchdowns this season at Oakland. He has 58 total tackles, two interceptions and a sack.
