The Green Bay Packers returned kicker Lucas Havrisik, who appeared in three games this season as an injury replacement for Brandon McManus, on the team's practice squad. The roster move was announced Friday. Havrisik was released from the 53-man roster on Wednesday to make room for the signing of receiver Will Sheppard from the practice squad, which is why there was a spot for Havrisik to fill on the 17-player practice squad.

Clearly without a better opportunity to kick elsewhere, Havrisik returned to Green Bay just two days after being released and will now get an opportunity to not only develop on the practice squad in 2025 but also prove to the Packers he could be a viable contender for the kicking job as soon as the 2026 season.

McManus is finally healthy after dealing with a right quad injury that lingered for nearly two months. Over the last two games, McManus made all four field goals and all six extra points after missing at least one kick in three straight games while battling through the injury issue. Havrisik's return provides practice squad insurance should any kind of injury recurrence happen over the rest of the 2025 season.

Havrisik played in games against the Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants. He made all four field goal attempts, including a team record 61-yarder in Arizona, and 7-of-9 extra points, and both misses came during a windy day at MetLife Stadium in New York in Week 11.
