Michigan State women's soccer's historic run has come to a close in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans went on the road to Palo Alto and fell to Stanford, 5-1, ending their run.

The trip to the Elite Eight was the furthest the Spartans had ever made it in the NCAA Tournament, but the road ends one game prior to the College Cup.

Stanford jumped out to a 5-0 lead on the Spartans, who couldn't handle the Cardinal's pressure. Michigan State did get their lone marker in the 76th minute, though, with Bella Najera finding the back of the net from the top of the penalty area, getting assisted by Kennedy Bell.

In a program record year, the Spartans finish 15-4-6.
