The Bears entered their Black Friday matchup against the Eagles as seven-point underdogs on the road. They came out of it victorious, picking up the 24-15 win to improve to 9-3 for the 2025 NFL season.

A dominant run game headlined Chicago’s fifth win in a row, giving them their ninth win in the last ten weeks. Their defense held up and managed to force an interception against Jalen Hurts, a feat that only one other team has achieved all season. Things weren’t always pretty, but the Bears never quit, and their execution in the trenches brought them to a massive win.

Here are the biggest takeaways from the Bears’ Week 13 matchup on Black Friday.

Dominant run game

The Bears’ offense was headlined by its dominant performance in the run game. Both D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai surpassed 100 rushing yards, marking the first time since 1985 the team has had multiple 100-yard running backs in the same game. They both scored rushing touchdowns, as well, helping propel Chicago’s offense in a tight game. The offensive line generated significant push at the point of attack, and both of the backs demonstrated explosiveness, patience, and tenacity attacking in between the tackles.

Passing attack is nonexistent

Generally speaking, this was Caleb Williams’ worst game this season from a production perspective. I’ll reserve full judgment to see if the All-22 is really as bad as things looked live, but the Bears’ passing attack was lackluster all game. When the receivers weren’t slipping, Williams was airmailing passes and landing passes into the dirt. It was very difficult for Chicago to get things going on offense when they weren’t heavily reliant on their ground game.

Having a healthy secondary helps

Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon both made their return to the Bears’ starting lineup on Friday, having missed plenty of time due to injury. Their presence helped the defense out significantly, as there were very few opportunities down the field for the Eagles to take advantage of. Save for a 30-yard touchdown that Nahshon Wright allowed to A.J. Brown, there was practically nothing vertically that Philadelphia could take advantage of. Wright would end up making up for that touchdown after forcing a fumble on a Tush Push attempt, though.
