Welcome to the third week of the Gainesville-area high school football playoffs!

It is Region Final and State Semifinal week, and there's three games in the area. The biggest, in terms of talent and rankings, is at Citizens Field. Buchholz is going for a remarkable fifth straight region title, but the No. 2 Bobcats need to defeat No. 4 in the state Mandarin, loaded with Division-I talent.

Bradford is seeking its third region title in four years, but its test... well it's a big one. The Tornadoes welcome in Cocoa. They should be favored vs. the Tigers, but Cocoa has won 18 straight region titles.

The local matchup is in Hawthorne, where the Hornets are seeking their sixth straight trip to the state championship. Their opponent is Chiefland, a team without its starting QB but defeated Baker by 30 next week.

You can read our picks for the week here.

Keep it here Friday night for scores across the Gainesville-area, and be sure to follow Gainesville Sun Preps Reporter Noah Ram on Twitter (@noah_ram1) and Instagram (@ramreporter) for updates, videos, polls and more.
