Luther College raised its highest-ever amount for student athletics during its annual One Team Day, the college announced.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Decorah private university’s One Team Day broke the record for most money raised during the event this year after reaching $592,631 in donations, according to a news release.
One Team Day is a 24-hour fundraising event meant to support student athletes and “highlight the importance of athletics and student-athletes within the Luther community,” according to the release.

Launched in 2024, this year donations could also go specifically to the Gerdin Fieldhouse renovation project. The $24 million project had already received more than $18 million by Nov. 17, the college stated online, which will go to updating athletic facilities and recreation and wellness areas and adding gathering spaces for students.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementLuther College Athletic Director Megan Wilson thanked donors and others who supported One Team Day in the release, saying both the event and the fieldhouse renovation project “are truly transformational for the student-athlete experience.”
“My initial reaction was disbelief — this level of support is extraordinary,” Wilson said in the release. “But if any place could rise to the moment, it’s Luther. The pride people hold for this institution continues to amaze me. One Team Day is truly representative of competition, character and our community.”
