The Hurricane Report
Like most teams with a new coach, Miami has a new team under Jai Lucas. Malik Reneau (Indiana) leads four in double figures by averaging 20.4 points per game. Tre Donaldson (Michigan) adds 16.1 points per game to go along with a team best 5.3 assists per outing.
Miami hung around with tourney=favorite BYU for a half before fading in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. It would have been Miami’s best win of the season as the Hurricanes have yet to score a win over a major conference opponent.
What’s at Stake
It’s always great to play in these competitive events over the Thanksgiving break. Going home with a win is even better. Georgetown almost stole their opener against Dayton before falling in overtime.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNow that a chance to upset a ranked BYU is off the table, the Hoyas – and the Big East for the matter – just need another win over a major conference opponent.
Ed Cooley needs more consistency from Caleb Williams, who was in foul trouble for most of the game.
