Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.
Five-star linebacker and Tennessee legacy Cooper Witten named the Vols in his top 10 schools, along with Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State and Texas Tech, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect is from Liberty Christian School in Argyle, Texas. 247Sports ranks Witten as the No. 1 linebacker in the class and No. 4 player in Texas.
Tennessee offered Witten a scholarship on Aug. 24, 2024. He visited Tennessee for the Vols’ football game versus Florida in 2024 and Big Orange BBQ on May 31.
Oklahoma was the first school to offer Witten a scholarship on June 8, 2024. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Missouri, UAB, TCU, Duke, Baylor, SMU, West Virginia, Oregon, Michigan, Auburn, Kansas State, Arkansas, Memphis, USC, LSU, Nebraska, Arizona State, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Georgia Tech.
The 2027 prospect is the son of former Tennessee tight end Jason Witten.
