Predator: Badlands begins its fourth full weekend in theaters today, but over the Thanksgiving holiday this week, the film passed one of Jason Statham’s most iconic action thrillers at the box office. At the time of writing, the newest Predator movie has grossed $79.3 million at the domestic box office and $83.5 million internationally for a global total of $162.9 million. This $79.3 million in America is enough to push Predator: Badlands past The Beekeeper, the 2024 Jason Statham actioner directed by David Ayer. It has also overtaken The Beekeeper at the global box office with plenty of time remaining in its run.

It’s still a bit too early to tell if Predator: Badlands is going to be a success, but it still has a way to go if it’s going to break even. The film reportedly cost around $100 million to make, giving it a break-even point of around $200 million by the general double-budget rule of thumb. With a current total of just over $160 million, this isn’t an impossible number to hit, but it will be an uphill battle. Studios generally split ticket sales with theaters, and when you also factor in marketing costs, this is why the budget must be doubled to break even.

Starring in the lead role of Thia/Tessa in Predator: Badlands is Elle Fanning, who recently featured with Timothée Chalamet in A Complete Unknown. Starring opposite her as the Predator himself, Dek, is Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. The film was written and directed by Dan Trachtenberg, with Patrick Aison also contributing to the script. Trachtenberg recently directed both Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers, both of which are streaming on Hulu. Stranger Things creators Ross and Matt Duffer can even be heard in the film voicing Kwei's Ship Computer.

Is Predator: Badlands on Streaming?

At the time of writing, Predator: Badlands is not available on streaming services, and the film is only showing in theaters. Prime Video, which is one of the biggest VOD platforms in the world, has also not added a tab for the film that says “coming soon,” meaning it will likely be a while before it is available to watch at home. The film is still performing well at the box office despite newer arrivals, so 20th Century Studios has no incentive to pull it from theaters now. When it does begin its streaming era, look for Predator: Badlands to join other recent Predator movies on Hulu.
