Tech is looking to avoid their eigthth straight loss to georgia, which would tie the series record for most consecutive wins by a team (Tech won eight straight from 1949-1956). After last season, Georgia tied their previous record of seven straight wins done between 1991-1997.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDespite neither team having a clear shot for their respective conference championship games, the side’s 19 combined wins is the most ever coming into a clash between the teams. With a lot of help, both the Jackets and dwags could find themselves in the ACC and SEC Championship games. georgia is 99% in the playoff as an at-large bid at this point.
The main injury loss for Tech from last week that will extend into this week is Jy Gilmore, who had to be carted off against Pittsburgh.
And in case you weren’t reminded ten million times, this game is taking place in Mercedes-Benz Stadium and not Bobby Dodd Stadium per usual. The game is sold out.
