It's easy to splurge and buy the best Android tablet on the market. But if your budget's a bit more modest, choosing the right one can be more challenging. Most folks just want something that works and gets a lot of things right. While there are unique needs, good power and a nice screen are some of the top priorities for most people, along with software that can make doing day-to-day stuff a lot easier.

If all of the above sounds like what you're looking for, I think the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is going to check all the right boxes for you. We loved this tablet when we reviewed it, calling it 'near perfect', praising its beautiful display and loud speakers. The software had some pleasant surprises, and Lenovo even included a stylus in the box. But the price is where this tablet really shines.

This is the tablet to get

So what kind of hardware do you get? Well, the Idea Tab Pro comes with a large 12.7-inch screen with a refresh rate that reaches up to 144Hz. The higher refresh rate will help to make interactions with the tablet feel smooth, and the stylus will also feel more responsive when you're jotting down notes or drawing up a sketch.

It's also great if you're someone that's into gaming, allowing the action to keep up, just in case you're playing something that features more intense movements. In addition, the tablet is powered by a MediTek Dimensity 8300 chip that's paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. The performance is solid, and we think that you'll be able to have a great experience.

Nice surprises everywhere

One thing that caught us off guard was the four-speaker setup on the tablet that really delivers some excellent audio. Because of this, it makes it easy to watch all your favorite shows, making this a fantastic media machine while on the go.

The stylus that comes in the box is also a welcome addition to the purchase package, allowing you to utilize the tablet in a way that many never do. And just in case the storage isn't enough for you, you can always upgrade using the microSD slot on the tablet.

Software that's simple

The Lenovo Android experience is a pleasant one, featuring a relatively clean UI and modern extras like access to Google AI tools and features. It comes with Android 14 out of the box, and can even be upgraded to Android 15 as well. Lenovo does promise one more update, so when Android 16 is available, that will be the last major OS update that it will receive.

This isn't a huge deal, since the tablet will keep on working for years to come, but other brands, like Samsung and Google, offer longer support windows, reaching up to seven years when it comes to updates. It'd be nice if Lenovo could commit to more time, but again, the tablet will still continue to work for years after the last update, so we don't think this will be an issue for most people.

And yes, you should buy it

This is one of those products that really easy to recommend because it offers so much value. Even at its retail price of $390, that's pretty much the case. So when you get a discount this steep, that drops it down to just $266 — it becomes a no-brainer.

You'll only be able to get this special price through Lenovo direct. When you head to the website, be sure to use the code "EXTRAFIVE" during the check-out process in order to get the lowest price possible.
