Nov. 28—Seahawks linebacker Patrick O'Connell rose from the practice squad to the starting lineup in Seattle's 30-24 win over the Tennessee Titans Sunday.

The Glacier and Montana standout filled in for an injury depleted Seahawks and made his presence felt as Pro Football Focus gave him an 81.3 grade for his performance — fourth best among Seattle defenders.

O'Connell finished with nine tackles and one sack against Tennessee. It was his fourth appearance of the season; he had four tackles against Arizona on Nov. 9 and appeared against the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 16.

"We have an ongoing joke on our ready squad that we can't block Patty on a daily basis," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald told Erik Anderson of Heavy.com. "I'm glad he had his opportunity today ... he went out and played winning football for us and made some great plays."

Macdonald added that O'Connell has been ready every week and no one in the locker room was worried when his number was called.

No decision has been made if O'Connell will start for the Seahawks Sunday against Minnesota, but with injuries still hampering the linebacker corps, O'Connell could feature more down the stretch for the Seattle defense.
