The Arizona Cardinals have not done a good job of protecting quarterback Jacoby Brissett. There was hope that perhaps things would improve after, during the Cardinals' 41-22 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, they did not allow a sack and Brissett was hit only four times for the entire game.

On Sunday, it was their worst game protecting Brissett.

He was sacked six times and hit a total of 15 times. Both were season-highs.

Through six games, Brissett has been sacked 24 times and hit 64 times, an average of four sacks per game and more than 10 hits per game.

At that pace, if he starts the rest of the games this season, he will have been sacked 48 times in 12 starts, the most since he was sacked a league-high 52 times in 2017 when he started 15 games.

Of course, the concern is that if he continues to take this many hits, he might not make it to the end of the season.

The Bucs are tied for 13th in the league with 27 total sacks, led by Yaya Diaby's five on the season.

Can the Cardinals limit the pressure? Aside from the game against the Niners, they haven't shown that they can.
