It didn’t take much for the Illini to fall back down in the AP poll.
Illinois entered Monday night’s contest against UTRGV at No. 13, after dropping from No. 8 following Illinois’ loss to Alabama last week at the United Center.

Plus, there have been almost zero major upsets in college basketball so far this season, so there’s not a ton of fluctuation or teams entering/leaving the rankings.
With that said, it’s the 79th week the Illini have been ranked in the nine-year Brad Underwood era. So that’s cool.
Illinois beat UTRGV on Monday night. Next up is a rematch 20 months in the making with UCONN at MSG on Black Friday.
