Jeremiah Smith updates his status for Ohio State vs. Michigan

We are starting to get some encouraging news on the status of the dynamic Ohio State receiver duo of Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. Shortly after head coach Ryan Day said the two are trending in the right direction to play Saturday, the "Downs 2 Business" podcast hosted by OSU safety Caleb Downs shared a clip of Smith addressing his injury status directly.

I mean, who else to hear from than the man who is dealing with it on his own, right?

While appearing on the podcast, Downs asked Smith to discuss what everyone wants to know and asked him how he is feeling. Smith's response should make Ohio State fans pretty happy, to say the least.

"I'm feeling good," Smith said. "Dealing with a little situation injury-wise, but I should be good to go Saturday."

That's it, and that was the length of the clip, but that's all Buckeye Nation wants to hear, and that's a very good thing for Ohio State's chances of putting an end to the four-game losing streak to Michigan. Nobody has been more vocal about their disdain for the Wolverines than Smith, who came out over the offseason and made it clear that he would love nothing more than to beat Michigan, even guaranteeing victory over the next two seasons.

Hopefully, this isn't just Smith being optimistic, and hopefully, there isn't a setback during practice this week. If not, you can guarantee he'll be a big part of the game plan in the "Big House" on Saturday.
